North Dakota
The Campaign for UND is also a campaign for North Dakota as a whole.
The University is educating record numbers of students across undergraduate, graduate and our professional programs of law and medicine - roughly half of whom are from right here in North Dakota. (Did you know UND is educating more than 14,000 students this fall? Enrollment is up 7.8% from last year.)
With more than 2,500 employees, UND is also the state's second-largest employer, meaning an incredible economic and academic impact on the state.
Therefore, success at the University of North Dakota equals success for our whole state.
Your donations enhance the educational value we offer our students. And, your donations enhance the viability of our great state.
Your Gifts At Work
The University educates people all over the world, so we know that funding can't come entirely on the backs of North Dakotans. Our graduates are all over the world and we need everyone's support. To date, roughly 70% of our total has been raised outside North Dakota to benefit the University.
At the same time, it's exciting to see the philanthropic spirit of so many North Dakotans who have stepped up to donate more than 30% of the total.
The campaign's four tenants, which spread funding across the entire campus, each benefit from the money raised so far - meaning every aspect of campus has been enhanced.
Developing North Dakota's Future
UND graduates are shaping North Dakota in every possible way. While some are concerned about a "brain drain" in our state, UND's recent graduates are leading the way in politics, energy, education, health care, technology, media, you name it.
Nearly 25% of UND's graduates have stayed in-state to launch their careers and family lives.
Nearly another 25% live in surrounding states of Minnesota, South Dakota and Montana. And the rest launch their careers anywhere from Iowa to India.
We need our motivated alumni here in North Dakota to ensure our state remains vibrant and forward-thinking. We also need our alumni out in the world, bringing North Dakota values and work ethic to others who will benefit.
